Originally named as “老糖厂” which translates to 'Old Sugar Mill', the owning company has since been renamed to “新天地” which means ‘A whole new world’. With the name change the owning company aims to make Alila Yangshuo an integrated, cultural resort bringing leisure, entertainment, conference and meetings all in one location to be the new tourism highlight in Yangshuo, Guilin.
